A Celebration of Life!
The Cancer Resource Centers need your help to continue our work providing services without charge to anyone facing cancer in Mendocino County. Join us for the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino’s Annual Big River Walk & Paddle! Our annual Big River Walk & Paddle is a fun community event in a beautiful setting. We will spend the day honoring those we love through a remembrance ceremony, followed by a community walk along the Big River haul road and a paddle along the estuary.
The day will be both a celebration and a remembrance with prizes and entertainment. The Big River Walk & Paddle will begin at Big River State Park east of the bridge. Participants will join together to either walk or paddle in honor and memory of those who have faced cancer. After returning from the trail or river, enjoy healthy snacks with family, friends, and community. Everyone is encouraged to dress for the weather.
Our goal is to raise $25,000. If each walker/paddler raises at least $200, we will achieve our goal. The more contributions you raise, the more successful we will be at achieving our goal.
Participants should start collecting pledges as soon as possible. You may bring pledges into the Cancer Resource Center during business hours prior to the event. Final pledges must be turned in at 9:30 am the morning of the event along with registration fees.
Gather the most pledges totaling over $1,000 & win a 2013 Cannondale Trail 7 mountain bike generously donated by Catch a Canoe & Bicycles Too!
Registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children (walk or paddle) Participants can register online via PayPal below, by phone at (707) 937-3833, by visiting our office, or at the event.
All cash and check pledges can be turned in at our office at 45040 Calpella St. in Mendocino or at the event.

All proceeds will benefit the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County. CRCMC, a grassroots organization, has been working since 1995 to improve the quality of life for those in Mendocino County facing cancer. We provide a wide range of information, support, and advocacy assistance, including medical appointment preparedness assistance, appointment recording and summarization. All of our services are offered free of charge and all of our efforts are spent in Mendocino County.
